>"I will require some rainbow sand; it is leftover from grinding down a nautilus of the same name," says Ran. "You may have luck in Apex's markets, they reach a little more widely than ours, but I imagine it can be found in Gensokyo as well. I will also require a object from your era. Something that has not traveled with you, but rather has seen the intervening years. It must be inanimate, and it will be lost in the process. Finally, I will need you to gather echoes of the place that you departed from in your time. I have a tool for this. Chen, the pearl, please."
>"Got it!" says Chen, as she heads into the other room, then returns with a small locket that she hands to Ran.

I'm itching to teach Chen to be more modest, but i'm also reluctant to do so, still, thinking of oneself as perfect when we could stop time at any time and stab them is strange.

My opinion on Chen is that she's unimportant to Sakuya's goals and is present only because it would be illogical for her to be anything other than Ran's bodyguard. I think we can treat her with no more importance than any other NPC we don't actively need something from.

It seems so sadly. I think i have a ok idea though, it just doesn't feel right, sure, we're called a perfect maid, but that's a big overrating by the others.

A proper servant exudes confidence outwardly, regardless of what they think of themselves inwardly. To do any less is to disgrace one's Mistress. I wouldn't think anything of it.

Even so, i also think a proper servant shouldn't display excessive confidence, but that might just be due to my personality.
