>You continue onward.
>Time passes, more than you would normally expect. Part of you wonders if you're not going the wrong way, but Flandre doesn't seem deterred. Finally, you can see it in the distance. As you draw closer, you find that the mountain seems to be largely as you remember it; banded by a forest and reaching up higher than any other mountain in Gensokyo. You can pick out the waterfall cascading down it into a river that flows into a gorge, and think you can even pick out some of the tengu town, as you draw closer. One thing that does stand out, as approach, is a series of bright orange boxes making their way up and down the mountainside in two orderly rows.

You also notice they seem to have windows and doors on them.

>You land outside the forest on the foothills of the mountain. Ahead, you see a long, wooden pagoda, its roof extending out further than most others you've seen and decorated with carved dragon heads at the corners. Inside the pagoda, you can see a track where the cars likely come in, and a few people milling around. A road, paved with fieldstones, leads way from it and to the west; you are certain this follows the same road that has always lead toward Youkai Mountain. It seems to have a bit of foot traffic on it, as you look westward, which is was fairly uncommon in your era. There is a board set up near the entrance, with a fair amount of writing on it. As you approach, you can see that it seems to be a list of rules.

> Nod at the rules board and make our way into the pagoda.

>You make your way inside, and quickly find the aforementioned white line along the inner edge of the pagoda, where a kind of U-shape has been cut into it to allow the cars to come through. You note a central pillar, where the cable and pulley are attached, which emits a kind of of mechanical drone you wouldn't normally expect of a wooden object. You also not a sizable portion of the deck is cut off by a fence, a little ways before the point where the cable lifts up. You also note that practically every surface of this pagoda has been carved and vandalized in some way.
>Flandre makes her way toward the white line, paying all this no mind, simply closing her parasol.

> When in the future, do as the Old Young Mistress does! Head toward the white line.

>You follow Flandre and take position behind her.
>Within a few moments, a car comes into the pagoda. Despite its garish color, the car has been carved to resemble a grinning shiisa, its legs positioned to make it look like it is crouching like a playful dog. It looks almost like an overlarge version of something Mistress might fancy for an esoteric drawing room decoration. Windows are set into it, and you can see a a handful of people milling around inside. You hear a kind of heavy noise, and see people start to walk out of the car as it slowly makes its way down the opposite side of the pagoda; mostly humans and a couple of giggling faeries.
>Then it turns around the pole, and you can see a large wooden door is hanging open; it appears to slide on kind of unseen rail, though you cannot immediately guess how it opens outward to get around the side of the car in the first place. As it passes by, people step into it; there's four other people here, all humans. Most of them are dressed as you would expect, one one seems to be wearing a curious garment made of just a bolt of cloth wrapped around the body and held in place with pins. You've seen statues of such a garment in Remilia's collection, but never really imagined it would be a thing that people would actually wear. As the car passed by Flandre, she steps in; the door easy easily wide enough to accommodate her wings.
