I second this, not only for Kilga's reasons, but remember we are almost done with our spellcard, and any battles we get in as a gate guard would be a good test.

I think we can roll with it, but perhaps negotiate toward emergency backup guard. Also get something like pay, and also better treatment for Meiling because she's our pal.
