Touhou Accomplishments Thread 19: 90FPS FOR EVERYONE

I somehow just pulled off a perfect Hard Keine for the first time... while using Scarlet team, who I use maybe once every few months. I've done this stage something like 100 times with Border and never managed that. I normally have to bomb at least once during the stage portion, but got super lucky a few times here. Also missed half the point cards - it wasn't even my stage high score. But it got the job done.

Edit: sudden even more surprising accomplishment - just capped every spell against Hard Yuyuko, where most runs I'm lucky to get 1-2 of them. Not quite perfect though, thanks to the knife/bubble nonspell and Youmu's spell.

I think the game gave you the capture because the spellcard bonus doesn't decrease. I've seen the same occur in timeouts of Fairy Destruction Ray and Grudge Bow.

As for why the bonus doesn't decrease in the first place, no idea.

Little late with this, since I somehow missed the accomplishments thread last time I looked through the forum...Also my first post here I guess!

PCB was my first Lunatic clear last Tuesday! Actually finished my run at exactly 1:00am the morning of my birthday. Had been working at it for a bit, it was honestly a pretty poor run but it felt good!

It has been a long time since I posted some achievement here but today I did 2 Accomplishments:

1- To make Marine Benefit work in some computer (in my office's computer :V);
2- Beat the game on normal level with 2 continues. The first time that I played, some months ago, I couldn't beat the fifth boss (those bubbles suck).

And I won't post a ss here because when I pressed printScreen the "stage clear" word disappeared and I catch on black screen

I finally 1cced Highly Responsive to Prayers on Normal (Jigoku route, default lives). The only game in the series I haven't 1cced on Normal now is Hisoutensoku.
I really never want to play this again, except maybe to 1cc the Makai route. Then I'm swearing this game off forever, because it's just so cruel. I hate you so much, Kikuri. You too, Ying-Yang Orb, for killing me more than you kill bosses.

PCB Lunatic No-Bombs clear.

1 miss until Youmu. Then an annoyingly shit performance on her involving 1 death to HGS, 1 death to the following non-spell and two fucking deaths to her final. Damn it. Yuyuko was 2 miss which is an acceptable result. I got walled off on her 2nd spellcard because I haven't got it memorized (lol whu plays PCB anyway :3) and i died really stupidly on 80% Reflowering's final wave. All in all, i'm still pleased about this improvement. The prismriver fight was pretty awesome and I find that I did well enough on the parts of the game that I didn't die at to compensate for forgetting to use my brain so much during Youmu.

PS: Practice today net me another NMNB Shou fight. Pretty happy about that but still very displeased with my overall consistency on the stage.

Well, I really haven't been posting here as much as I used to. I've been playing quite a bit though. Just mostly PC-98 scoring. And hopefully someday... PCB.

But anyway, here's a no-bomb run of HRtP Lunatic. Jigoku route because Sariel is death on a pogo stick. This game is, surprisingly enough, quite fun to play. Especially without bombs.

Haven't been playing Touhou as much lately because I've been obsessed with other shmups (Espgaluda is pretty fun!), but I managed to pull out a timeout of Mountain of Faith Normal on my first try, another 1DNB MoF Lunatic stage 6 (Death to Kanako's third non), and a 1DNB SA Stage 4 (to Flying Insect's Nest).

I also would have reported clearing UFO Lunatic with MarisaA, but I decided to derp on Byakuren and lost a life with 2 bombs to Milky Way, then I died on the red phase of LFS at a centimeter of health. Still though, I got pretty far for only having 4 lives going into stage 5, so that's something at least.

I've been keeping at it with the IL speedrunning and hold over 90% of all the scenes across both photo games as of tonight. I'll happily retire from speedrunning these games once 44:39.xx in DS is reached.

Victory! The total time for the DS IL's reached 44:39.63 tonight. Even though a project like this can never really be finished, there will always be places to improve, new findings that obsolete old strategies, perhaps even some game mechanic abuse or glitch down the line( you never know, right?), I still feel like I'm thoroughly done with this now.

Of course, this benchmark would've never been reached without competition, and if people pick up the game again, I might just come back to play some more, but right now I just wanna take it easy. The DS score.dat I started when I picked up the DS speedrunning last year has 194 hours and 13 seconds clocked on it right now, and I also made another .dat while switching computers with over 50 hours on it... time well spent is never wasted
