As the title says, this thread will be where I put my random short stories in between updates of Kirisame Shenanigans. I will also come up with shorts if you give an idea to me.

First up~

The Overlord and his Vassal's

"Grrrrrrrr, where the hell are we!? Gatekeeper! You said that would lead to the Tyrants Castle, what the hell happened!" Shouted a short boy with short blue hair, wearing nothing more then red shorts, red-ish shoes and a red animate scarf.

"Prince, you need to chill out. Ripping the Gatekeepers head off won't get us back to the castle or into the Tyrant's castle any faster." Calmed the woman with short red hair in a pair of pony-tails, wearing a bat-shaped shirt that covered up little of the woman flat chest, and a mini-skirt as well as a pair of dark boots, as she slapped the boy lightly with her devil-like tail.

"Yes Laharl, Etna's right, plus we seem to be in some other world... the demons around here seem different, wonder why?" The blonde haired girl said cheerfully. The girl was wearing a a simple robe with plenty of frills and red ribbons, and had a devil tail like the woman, Etna, as well as red bunny ears on top of her head, along with her normal ears.

"Flonne, you don't seem to understand, this is Tyrant Overlord Baal we are dealing with, if we don't hurry, the enitre Netherworld is going to be in ruins! Flaming ruins covered in over-sized swords!" The boy Laharl shouted, his anger becoming visable like a heat wave in the summer as he pulled a sword almost out of thin air.

"Mi'lord, you need not worry yourself over that at the moment, we seem to have 3 Demon-like beings approaching us at a notable speed, the are coming by air no less." Stated a 4th demonic figure, as he brushed his pure-white hair away from one of his pointy ears. This demon was very notable in appearence, as he was very tall in any sense of the word, measuring in at 6 feet 6 inches easily, and likely taller, the demon wore a full-body red suit the looks similar to the armor Samurai from hundred of years ago might wear, but this suit moved as if it was a cloth rather then metal. The most surprising feature about this demon was his skin color, it was a light green compared to the other 3 slightly-pale white skin.

"You don't say Shinku? I can always count on you Shinku, I'm not even sure if it's skill or your lineage as a Divine Majin, but you never fail to impress me. Well, let's greet those Demons, they likely came to kneel down before me, the greet Overlord Laharl!" The boy said proudly as his scarf took the form of a pair of wings and the boy leaped into the sky, with the other 3 demons following while Shinku drew his sword, the Legendary Sword, Yoshitsuna.

The 3 flying figures came to a stop in front of Laharl and Shinku, with one of them floating in front of the other two.

"Ah, you 4 must be Youkai I sensed breach the Barrier. I am Yukari Yakumo, Youkai of boundries, and what are you 4 doing here in Gensokyo?" The beautiful woman said calmly and kindly, but with a slight hint of command in her voice. The woman, Yukari, was wearing a beautiful Violet dress and what looked similar to a night-cap or shower-cap, and was holding a parasol in her right hand.

"Gen-whats-it!? What the hell are you talking about lady, and who do you think you are, talking like that to me, the Overlord Laharl! We were trying to get to Tyrant Overlord Baal's castle to strike him down once and for all! And you said Yukari Yakumo? That's impossible, Shinku's last name is Yakumo." Laharl said in his usual rude and proud voice.

"I don't have time for you kiddo. Step through this portal and you'll be back in your castle in the alternate dimension of yours, which is also haow your tall friend could share my last name, alternate dimensions." Yukari said, clearly tired of dealing with Laharl already, as she opened a portal, her trademarked Gap, and let Laharl and company go through.

Once they were gone... "Ran, Chen, thank you for being so quick in noticing them, that kid would have started a war with half of Gensokyo just by his attitude alone." Yukari said to her 2 Shikigami, the 9-tailed blonde-haired Kitsune Ran, who looked similar to a mother, just with 9 large and fluffy fox tails sticking out, and the twin-tailed brown-haired Nekomata Chen, who looked like a ten year-old girl with a pair of tails.

The 3 youkai flew off towards their home making light onversation, the only notable part being Yukari mentioning having a dinner date with a Shrine Maiden.

Who's Shinku?

Shinku Yakumo, I name I came up with for a Divine Majin, so he is basicly a generic with an awesome name, cause Divine Majins are just that, the Ultimate character type in Disgaea 1. I spent like an hour trying to come with the name, looking up Japanese versions of certain words, and their you go! IIRC, Shinku means Crimson, or Scarlet. So their ya go

In Disgaea standards, assume Shinku is level 9999 with Yoshitsuna(Ultimate Sword) and 3 Super Robo Suits all at Rarity 0, all at Level 100, if that makes any sense to you >.>

Gensokyo wide trouble! Girls weapons of choice gone! War path is only path! Girls are preparing, please wait warmly and have a tea for the fights to begin.

It was about 6:30 AM, Gensokyo was mostly awake, and the rest were starting to wake up. Then throughout Gensokyo, screams of rage echoed everywhere, and people started gathering and beating up everyone they met.

Hakurei Shrine: "You have 'borrowed' my food and such before, but THIS is going to far Marisa! Give me back my Ying-Yang Orb NOW or I'll beat you so hard even Eirin can't save you!" Reimu yelled at Marisa, who countered that with her own yell "I took your Orb!? What the MAKAI are you talking about, YOU stole MY Mini-Hakkero!" The two girls couldn't take it any longer, they thought the other took their favourite weapon and replaced with a toy. Reimu's Ying-Yang Orb was replaced with a beach ball, and Marisa's Mini-Hakkero, a game controller.

Scarlet Devil Mansion, Servant Quarters: "Hong "China" Meiling! Sleeping on the job is excuseable, but THIS is pushing it TO FAR! Replacing all of my 250 Silver Knives with PLASTIC PINK DAGGERS!? You are so DEAD!" Sakuya screamed, enraged beyond belief. "Sakuya, what the SHIT are you talking about!? YOU stole MY GLOVES! What the MAKAI ARE THESE!?" Meiling said holding up a pair of silly looking battle gloves, one looking like a cartoony pumpkin face and the other a cartoony snowball face.

Scarlet Devil Mansion, Entryway: "PATCHY! You have some 'splainin to do! You are the ONLY one who could take my Spear! WHERE THE **** IS IT!" Remilia Raged, clearly ready to rip the poor librarians head right off! "I did not take it, but you are the only one who could enter Viole and take my Main Tome without me noticing or any traps going off, I would like it back immediately." Patchy said in her own version of shouting, a tone far louder then her normally quiet tone.

Bamboo Forest Entance: "Kaguya, Eirin, I was actually considering asking to put this feud behind us and making peace, but this is way to far, even for you! Not only did you do this to me, you dragged in Keine! Stealing our weapons and giving us these stupid TOYS!" Mokou said, letting her anger allow her body to engulf itself in flames. "Mokou, we didn't do that you crazy human! Your the one who STOLE  from US! Give back the Hourai Branch and Eirin's Bow, NOW!" Kaguya yelled at the top of her lungs, waving her "Hourai Branch" or rather her twig, at Mokou.

Yakumo Manor, Living Room: "Ahahahaha! Yukari, this is too much fun! Gapping all their favourite weapons away for April Fools day is brilliant! Even Youmu, with a pair of Tuna rather then a pair of Katana's!" Yuyuko howled with laughter, watching the events in Gensokyo unfold along side Yukari and Kanako, who were also watching and laughing. Kanako was rolling on the floor watching the events and for a few seconds managed to say "Sanae you silly, if only you knew" before bursting into laughter again. Eventually Yukari spoke up "Well ladies, it's been fun, but as per rules, I'm putting everything back, since it's past noon." Yukari then opened up about 70 gaps total, dropping various weapons into the gaps, including a Scythe with an aura of Death, a Tag, a Nuclear Control Rod, a purple-ish closed 3rd eye, a gourd with a powerful sake smell on it, a Red horn with a star on it, and many other things.

"Oh my, they are already heading here, I figure, and I am so screwed." Yukari said, laughing as she thought of her April Fools day joke, but shivering at the thought of what the masses may do with her for it. Oh well, she had fun while it lasted...

My own little fan theory on something, a bit of serious business, and hopefully some lulz.

"Ok partner, we've been here for three, THREE hours! You said you got vibes from here, what the heck is taking so long!?" Said a teen-aged girl with short brown hair wearing a black hat with a white ribbon on it, a white shirt and a black skirt, as she looked at her friend.

"Renko, calm down, it's almost here, I can feel it, it's close... very close... the boundary is growing in size, rapidly now..." Said the girl with moderate length blonde hair wearing a cute white hat, and a violet dress, as she studied something in the air very carefully.

"Be ready to trigger it..." Maribel said, ready to give a signal, and just as a purple rift with red ribbon at either end showed up out of nowhere and a person started to step out of it, Maribel gave the signal "NOW!" causing Renko to drop a net over the rift.

"For the love of... get this off of me now Mari, I need to speak with you, not get treated like a wanted woman." Said the woman with long blonde hair wearing a cute white hat with a red ribbon on it forming an infinity sign, and a violet dress.

"Wha!? Y-yukari, wha-what are you doing here!? I'm so sorry! Talk about what?" Maribel said, trying to get the net off.

"Thank you Mari." Yukari said, finally free of the net "As you know, you and I look surprisingly alike and have similar powers. Well, I need to tell you something important. As you know, I am over 1000 years old, and an extremely powerful Youkai. But, until now, only a VERY select few have know much more then that. I was a human once, with powers like my own current powers, but weaker overall. Eventually I slipped through a boundary and ended up over 1000 years into the past, in Gensokyo's current location. My human name, likely rings a... bell, to you and Renko. It was Maribel Han, a modern day Japanese schoolgirl... I am you."

"And lemme guess, next your going to tell me that Renko is actually a Goddess of Awesomeness, or something like that." Mari said, sighing. "If you want to believe that, prove your me, with something only I should know."

Yukari laughed a bit, then spoke "The mark on the back of your neck isn't a birthmark like you tell everyone, Renko did it when you were 5, she used a permenent marker, and you grow your hair out to hide it. You have an extremly sensitive spot on the back of your head, which, when touched with enough force, such as a tap, makes your mind go blank and sends pain ripping through your entire body and whenever you have trouble sleeping, you hit the spot so hard it knocks you out. You deep down think your incompitent at everything you do and think Renko does far better then you, and you try so hard to cover up any mistakes your certain you will make. You once slipped in your house, landed face first, and said mukyuu when you impacted the ground, said impact leaving a small dent in the floor. You absolutly love it whenever Renko calls you Mari or Mariberi... Shall I continue... or are you convinced?"

Mari was so red you would think her face was covered in red paint. "N-no... I believe you... why did you tell me that you are me though?"

"A couple reasons. I thought the idea of making you blush so much would be good for a little laugh, I thought you deserved to know, and most importantly, since you can act however you want and it won't affect me at all, go for it. If you let your chance slip by, you'll end up regretting it. Tell her, tell her now Maribel."

With that, Mari walked over to Renko, who didn't bother listening in on the conversation, and said something "R-renko... I need to tell you something really important, so listen up. Renko, I L-love you. I love you Renko..." and Renko said nothing, she just continued sitting how she was with a smile on her face... as she woke up, and said "Oh, hey Mariberi, sorry bout falling asleep"... "Renko you moron. I tell you that I love you, and you sleep through it." Mari then pulled a pikohan out of hammerspace and bonked Renko with it.

I wanted a happily ever after quality ending with that short.

Anyone have a suggestion for a short story? I made this thread so people could suggest ideas for stories, much like Purvis' Request Thread. I just toss in my own idea's every now and then for fun.

"What a boring day, it's far more peaceful then usual, not even that Witch has come by for a while. I'm glad no one has tried invading, but it's still boring..." Says a young woman with long Scarlet-red hair wearing a green hat with a star, and a green dress that seems fit for martial arts, as she guards the gate to a large and beautiful Mansion.

"If your so bored Hong Meiling, then how about you go a round or 3 with me!" Another young woman, with brown hair wearing a red-white ribbon and a version of a red-white Miko outfit, with detached sleeves and light pants rather then the usual skirt.

"Geh, Reimu! You want to fight me? You serious!? Holy wow, no one ever cares about fighting me, hell, no one even cares about me. You are the first person in years to call me by my name as well. Very well then, Reimu Hakurei, I, Hong Meiling accept your challenge. I assume you wish to fight hand-to-hand as well." Meiling said, as she adopted a martial arts pose, with a song starting up and playing from seemingly everywhere at once.

"Hand-to-hand is correct, I want to test out my new skills. Let's go!" Reimu said, as she took up her own pose.

Reimu decided to try and strike the first blow, and charged at Meiling head-first, throwing a punch once she got close enough. Unfortunately for Reimu, Meiling blocked the punch with ease, letting off a  loud yawn as well, showing her boredom. Meiling then pushed Reimu back about 7 feet and proceded to charge at Reimu who was downed by the push. Meiling made a rather impressive leap during her charge, and came down on Reimu's position with a punch so powerful, the ground was torn asunder. Thankfully, Reimu rolled out of the way of the punch at the least second, only being hit the chunks of earth launched by the punch. Reimu got up to her feet with a backflip when charged Meiling again, this time following up her initial punch with another and another and another and so on, but Meiling blobked each and every punch with her left hand while she pulled her right hand back.

"Farucon... PAUNCH!" Meiling yelled as she threw her punch, a phoenix form engulfing her arm as her punch slammed Reimu in the head, launching her into the trunk of a tree.

"Ok, you win." Reimu said as she approached Meiling a few minutes later, finally regaining conciousness "I guess those Tai-Chi work out video's don't make me any good at dodging a Falcon Punch at Point-Blank, or at hand-to-hand-only fighting."

Meiling Face-palmed as she started laughing histaricly. When she finally calmed her laughter enough she spoke "Tai-Chi work out videos are for work out only, did you seriously think that they would makes you good enough at martial arts that you could beat ME of all people!? I might not be al that great when it comes to Danmaku, but I lived my Human life as a Martial Artist, and when I became a Youkai, I still had my fighting skills and kept on working on those. I have over 600 years of Martial Arts Experience! If this was an RPG, I'd be Level 99, have trancended back to Level 1 and hit Level 99 again at least 3 times! Nice fight though, at least you gave it your all."

Reimu then went back to her shrine and cried a bit at believing the videos would let her be any better in Martial Arts.

Meiling is refering to Ragnarok Online, in which once you hit Level 99, you can Trancend, which sends you back to Level 1 with all your skills, and like 80%(Idk how much exactly) or so of your stats. It takes more then double the exp to get from Trancended Level 1 to Trancended Level 99 then it does Normal Level 1 to Normal Level 99.

It actually takes double the experience it takes to get from 1 to 99 to actually get to 97 as a Trans, and 97-99 take as much as 1-99 non-trans, because of the sliding scale of exp required per level.

Also, Meiling is a Champion-Shura. No debating this.

You don't keep even a fraction of your original stats, you instead start with 100 bonus stat points to distribute and all your stats start at 1.

Simply THE most fashionable, refined, and sophisticated, cutest, and friendliest character we have ever met! With all her finals at the Makai University of Necromancy finished, she finally had a chance to have a nice relaxing vacation to the place she's always wanted to visit - Gensokyo. Heck, she was such good friends with Sara that the gateguard said she would let her pass without having to pay the trans-border fee! She had her little pink suitcase all packed and ready to go; this was going to be the best vacation ever!

And then Reimu beat her up.

Heh, on a more serious note, I didn't expect too many people to know of or be fond of obscure stage two bosses from the PC-98 era.

I'm really glad you wrote this Meiling story btw. I'm sick of all the Meiling abuse in doujinshi out there, and it's nice to see her in this tone of light.

My New Beginning In Gensokyo

My name is Justin T. Ryght. I am a normal 16 year old guy in high-school... until tragedy and fortune struck during a Summer Vacation day that is.

Quiet you, I'll get to that when it's appropriate.

No doubt you will my lovely, but I need lines in this as well.

"I wonder what's taking mother so long, she said she would be back by 7:00 PM, yet it's friggin midnight! I hope nothing happened..." I said outloud as I looked up at the clock. I'd say I'm a pretty normal 16-year old boy, who is, if anything, a little over-affectionate of my mother, rude to people I have never met before and tall, having hit 6'0 at 14 and I still haven't stopped growing yet. I have shoulder-length dark-brown almost black hair, and an average body build.

Suddenly, I hear a loud *thunk* noise on the front door, not normal in anyway at all. Due to this, and my worry over my mother, I hurry to the front door, open it, and I see... m-mother lying on the ground, in a pool of her own blood with a knife in her back... "Mom?! Mom! MOM! MOMMY! NOOOOOOOO! Ah... ahh... AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" I sat their, just outside my house, holding the now lifeless body of my mother, the only person in the world that seemed to care about me at all, as I screamed and cried like never before... I was alone... all alone...

After my crying calmed enough, I went inside my house and did the obvious, called 9-1-1. When the cops showed up 10 minutes later, they did the obvious, asked me what happened, and I recapped: My mother was going to a bar with a few friends of hers, a birthday party for one of them. She said she would be back by anywhere from 7:00 to 8:30, and that I heard the noise at midnight and found her dead outside the front door with no one else in sight, and not a sound aside from myself. They asked if I had anyone to go to, and honestly telling them no, they wanted me to come down to the station with them, which I refused, I was to much of a wreck to be willing to go anywhere outside my home. They were thankfully not persistent, only asking once more and getting no reply, left, with an ambulance taking mother away to the hospital.

I sat in my room for who knows how long, at least a day, only leaving for food and such, thank heavens we went grocery shopping 2 days ago. Eventually, I heard a humming noise, kinda low-pitched. Now, for some reason, this caught my interest, the source was within my room, by the door to my room to be exact. Looking over, I saw a thin black line in thin-air, with two red ribbons at the top and bottom of it, and then it opened up! It was red inside with eyes everywhere, looking everywhichway, and after a second, a beautiful woman stepped out of the hole, the Gap. She had long blonde hair and a long violet dress wearing a mop hat with a ribbon shapped like "Infinity" tied onto it, holding a parsol and wearing long white gloves...

"Justin Time Ryght?" she asked, but clearly knew that was me... yes my middle name is Time, yes it's silly, get over it before I hurt you. "Y-yes I am... who are you, Miss..." I knew the answer, but I wanted to be polite, this meeting was 1-in-a-million as they say, only more so, I was not going to flub this by being rude now. "Yukari Yakumo." Yukari said nothing more to me, but the sad look on her face told me she knew of what happened here. She only held her hand out to me, with a sad smile on her face, as she held her Gap open with one hand and motioned me over to her with the other, the one she held out to me. I took her hand, got up and followed her through her Gap... into a new fate, a new life, a new... EVERYTHING!

But first, I blacked out, upon my face passing into the Gap to be exact. Turns out those who pass through for the first time with built up emotional stress or issues pass out... go figure.

Actually... writers justy do that for a little bit of epic in the story. Main Character falls out cold after tons of stress, emotional or otherwise, is an old trick in RPGs and the like.

You would totally make my day if you wrote that story, but don't do it because I'm asking, do it because you like writing (or don't write it if you don't want to). You said you were taking ideas; you're not obligated to write a story for everything your audience throws at you. You're a writer, and so you know this better than I do: if you try to write something you don't want to write, it's not going to turn out well.

Holy cow, I have heard that Gensokyo is crazy and/or hard to handle more often then not, but I grossly underestimated how much! When I said a new everything I meant a new EVERYTHING.

As I said last time, I blacked out once I entered Yukari's Gap, and the next thing I knew, my everything was sore, their was the sound of a cat purring away happily, and some birds singing away off in the distance. I tried to open my eyes and immediately I regretted doing that, cause it was bright! I guess someone heard me groan in pain, as shortly after my idiotic failed attempt at opening my eyes, I heard a kind, motherly voice speak to me...

"Oh, are you awake now? You had us all worried, passing out like that. How are you feeling, is everything ok?" The voice also whispered something that I couldn't hear, and I thought I heard light footsteps leaving the room.

Now, if opening my eyes was impossible without mass pain, speech would be hell at best "Hurts... thirsty..." was all I got, and thankfully the person who spoke to me got the picture and poured a bit of water into my mouth. Oooooh, salvation! Water has never felt so great before now! "Thank... you" was all I managed to say, before I heard a pair of footsteps enter the room.

"Ah, are you awake my friend? You gave me quite the scare when you fell out of the Gap unconscious." The voice from before I blanked out spoke this time, with joy being quite clear in her voice... Did she actually ca- no, that's impossible, no one does. I decided to try opening my eyes once more, with less pain this time thankfully. Once they were open and started adjusting to the light, I could make out a figure looking over me, and once my eyes were fully adjusted, I could tell what the figure was. It was a blonde woman, looking at me with a gentle smile on her face. Although, at the time, I had completely forgotten who she was, so my response was obvious. "W-who are you? Do I know you?"

"You've already forgotten? Don't you remember what happened at all before you blacked out?" She asked me, and I gave her the best reply I could "No... sorry" and she thankfully reminded me "I'm the one who brought you here silly. My name is Yukari Yakumo and I am the Youkai of Boundaries. I brought you here to save your life from certain doom." The woman, Yukari, said in her sweet tone. "How long was I out..." I asked, to which she said "3 and a half days." I decided to be an idiot, by trying to sit up. Wow, I didn't think pain like that was even possible! "Gah!" was all I managed to say, as I tried to lift myself into a better sitting position. "You shouldn't be moving yet, your still in rough shape! You need to rest!" She told me, raising her voice, but with concern rather then anger or something like it.

I decided to do as she said and went back to sleep... only to get haunted by nightmares. I remember most of it clearly, I was in a grassy field somewhere, with a cherry tree nearby. I got up, as I was lying on the ground, and looked around, quickly seeing a familiar figure, one I had seen countless times over my life, one that I saw dead only a few days before. The figure has it's back to me, but slowly turned around a second after I noticed it. The figure looked identical to how my mother looked when I found her, knife in the back, blood coming out of the corner of her mouth, but something was different, this figure had a large knife in it's hand, and raised it high into the air as it proceded towards me. I tried to run, but my legs refused to move. The figure got rather close, enough so that I noticed numerous bruises all over it's arms and face, and then it brought the knife down on me, and I woke up.

I instantly shot upright and tried to scream, pain ripping through me in an instantly, but all I heard was a girl screaming somewhere very close by, and I felt like I couldn't move. As soon as the screaming passed, I immediately looked around the room, trying to find the source to no avail, but within a second I saw the sliding door open and I saw Yukari, clearly startled, and she rushed over to me, started asking questions "What happened!? Are you ok!? Was that you screaming?" and after her questions, I tried to answer her questions, but as soon as I tried to speak, I heard a girls voice... coming from me... My reaction was obvious "Wha- who- whe- who is tha-... oh no... no... no... nonono- aaaahhhhh!" I broke out crying as I realised it. The reason I wasn't hearing my voice, but a girls instead became painfully obvious to me.

Yukari held me close to her as I realised what had happened to me. I don't know how long I remained in her embrace, crying my eyes out, and even with my tears gone, I continued until eventually, I calmed down and the embrace ended. "W-wh-what ha-happened to me!?" I asked, knowing the answer, but not believing it, I had to ask. "I-I do not know how, but you somehow turned into... a girl." Yukari told me, and I could not believe it, it was impossible, it couldn't be happening... and yet... it was... "I'm going back to sleep... we can talk more in the morning"

Morning came, and I remembered last night, and I checked myself to make sure it all wasn't a dream... no dice, I am a girl, completely. I sat up, and noticed something about the bed I was using, it was a futon, something I would have never expected normally. I saw that some clothes had been set out for me, a red shirt with a light blue neck, a pair of red shorts with a yellow flower design near the botton. I put on my new clothes and was kinda creeped out by the fact that they fit perfectly, as if they were made just for my new, smaller, more slender, and larger chested form.

Ahhhh~ new clothes can be fantastic at times. These new clothes fit perfectly for me, don't look weird on me, are light and... just wearing them makes me feel happier... weird, but kinda cool, I guess.

Never before now has anyone ever loved a new shirt and new shorts that much. Never!

I exited the room I had been staying in, and as soon as I did, I bumped into a woman I did not recognize. She had roughly shoulder-length golden-blonde hair, wearing a white hat that has points on it making me think she had animal ears underneath it, which is kinda odd since she has normal ears as well, she was wearing a blue robe with white sleeves, and the most interesting bit, she has tails, 9 of them. "Ah, you're already awake, and you found your new clothes I see. Yukari-sama asked me to wake you and bring you to the dining room, she wished to speak with you, properly this time. Please follow me." The woman said, in a kind motherly tone, as she turned around and started walking as I followed her... she must have been the one from when I first woke up. Those tails look so tempting to grab... must resist... fluffy... tails~

"Ah the lady of the hour is finally awake! Come and join us for breakfast! You must be hungry, going a full week now without food or any proper amount of drink of any sort." Two things, first of all, wow, Yukari sure seemed lively, which is weird considering I heard she sleeps half the time, and the other half she is up to who-knows-what. I sat down at the table. Second of all, as soon as she finished talking, my stomach growled, clearly in agreement with Yukari... How cliche...

"Ok, first order of business, your name, can't use it anymore, your a girl, no girl could have the name Justin and be respected at all by anyone." Yukari said, rather matter-of-factly. "So what would you have me go by then, I'm not exactly overflowing with creative genius when it comes to names here." and it's true, I suck at coming up with names. Yukari didn't seem to care about that though "Well... how about... Shinku?" Yukari said as she tried to act like she just came up with it, this was clearly planned out a while ago.(*) The woman with all the tails and the cat-girl started laughing almost instantly, and clearly at me.

"What's so funny? Shinku actually sounds like a good name! Better then anything I could come up with!" I tried to counter, and failed. "You know nothing of the Yakumo family it seems. Think about it for a second, that is Chen" Yukari said as she pointed to the cat-girl wearing an orange dress and a green hat "that is Ran" as she pointed to the lady with all the tails "and I'm Yukari, what do our names have in common, Shinku?" she pointed to herself, and pointed out something that would be obvious to plenty of others, but not me. "I have no idea, but I get that their is a naming scheme here." I stated. Yukari just sighed "Chen, Orange. Ran, Indigo, Yukari, Violet. Shinku, Crimson, which based on the scheme, Red. The names represent out power, or rather, how powerful we are. Think rainbows." Yukari said to me, as I tried to resist the urge to punch her in the face.

Now, I was never a violent person in any sense, but never before have I felt so insulted! Now, I know that I am weak, but for it to be said in such a roundabout way is just rude! "Ara? You seem to have the wrong idea. I do not mean you are weak, I in fact mean you have incredible potential power, coming very close to my current power. Yukari, Violet, one of the boundaries of visible light, and the other boundary is Red, but Akai doesn't seem fitting for you. Do you accept my offer?" It took me a while to understand what Yukari meant, she was inviting me into her family, to be a Yakumo. Once it clicked in, I instantly thought back to when she appeared before me. She knew what had happened to my mother, and thus to me, she knew I felt alone, and she brought me here, gave me a roof over my head and welcomed me into her family. Either she does shit like this every few months or so, or she was serious, and if she was serious, that meant that she cared about me... right?

"Do you know what that says to me, Yukari? It says to me you know what happened very clearly, and that you know that my mother was the only person who cared about me. Even within my family, she was the only one who showed any kindness or affection towards me! My own family! Are you saying you care about me THAT MUCH!? We haven't even known each other for a full WEEK, let alone a MONTH or a YEAR! Do you really mean exactly that, or are you just screwing with me?" I may have sounded enraged their, but in reality, I had to ask the question of whether or not she cared about me, and I had to point out the details, how insane it seems for me to feel like a woman I've only just met cares about me like she was my mother. I was emotionally exhausted long before this, and this did not help at all. I was anything but angry, I just wanted a hug, and to cry some more.

Yet you cried for 3 hours the night before, while getting a big loving hug. Or do those not count for some unknown reason? ^_^

Yukari took a deep breath, then began speaking "I know all about what happened, how your family treated you very poorly at best, and how your mother was the only one who cared about you, and how she was murdered for seemingly no reason. Every few months I normally spirit away no more then 10 people from outside the border, some to live here for a time then end up back home, to spread belief of a mysterious paradise where Gods, Humans and Magical beings all live together in harmony, said belief strengthening this land, and the rest are for, to be blunt, a breeding pool. Normally. A few times, while searching for potential people to spirit away, I find a person who will soon be in a position where their life hangs in the balance. I watch those people, and before something goes to far, I spirit them away here, effectively saving them from otherwise certain doom. I found you in that situation, your family, save for your late mother, hated your with a blazing passion for no good reason, and once your mother passed, it was only a matter of time before you followed her, and this scared me. A young boy, with a future ahead of him, losses the last person who cared for him and is soon to be killed himself. Something in me practically screamed at me to spirit you away, to save you. I do care about you, and I do mean to welcome you here as a family member, a real family member. On top of that, Ran and Chen wouldn't hurt anyone without a reason. Long story short, Yes, I mean it."

The next hour or so consisted of me crying into Yukari's shoulder, cleaning up after the waterworks-fest, and heading off somewhere with Yukari. I'll get to that later.

Morning Drama, "dawww" inducing hugs, and a flight to some place within Gensokyo. Is this going to be the norm for me, or is it just for now?

"Hey Yukari, where are we headed anyway?" I asked, as she dragged me through Gensokyo's skies. I couldn't fly yet, and she wanted me to see some of Gensokyo, so she just grabbed my hand and started flying to let me see the sights. "You'll see Shinku dear, but for now, just enjoy the sights." Yukari actually hand-waved what I said, thankfully with her right hand, and not her left which held me.

As I looked around Gensokyo, one thing stood out to me. It was absolutely beautiful. Gensokyo is 'the beauty of nature' and then some. I've never found nature beautiful in ANY way, and yet this was truly gorgeous! It's just... just... magical! I could see a mist-covered lake in the distance and to our left somewhat, and I think their was a large mountain off in the distance, couldn't really tell, too far away.

"Lesse, if she was right, and the best way for "that" to happen is extreme stimulation of any emotion, usually fear or anger." Yukari started saying under her breath, as I noticed something very frightening, my grip on Yukari's hand was slipping. "Yukari, my grips slipping! Yukari, are you even listening!?" I called out to her, but she didn't seem to listen or react at all. The next bit is rather obvious, as I am flightless right now. I fell like a rock, and just as I hit the ground, rather then a sudden stop and lot's of pain, I felt the fall slow, and everything went red... Yukari made a Gap right where I would have hit the ground fell... I came out of it and landed in her arms, rather scared by the near-death experience.

"Y-y-you trying to kill me here!?" What else would I ask? "Nope, just testing something, now lets be on our way." Yukari said, as she tossed me into the air a bit, caught me with her right hand then continued flying somewhere. I looked ahead of us to she where we were going, and I saw something, a shrine of some sort, maybe? "That is our destination, the Hakurei Shrine. The Shrine Maiden-" Yukari said, as I cut her off "Reimu Hakurei, one of the people who solves the incidents, lives their and is, by your standards, a good friend of yours. That is what you were going to say, isn't it?" I laughed, because Yukari looked rather surprised right their, as if she just had her mind read or something. "Th-that is correct. How did you know that?" to which I told "1, I guessed, and 2, I'm a lot smarter then you might guess at first glance." Yukari just stayed surprised until we landed at the Shrine.

"What do you want Yukari, and please don't try to be sneaky either, I know that whenever you show up, it is next to NEVER for mere pleasentries, and when it is for pleasentries, you just Gap here and come alone." The girl in the Red-White Shrine Maiden outfit said, sounding annoyed with Yukari. The girl, at first glance had short brown hair, but then I noticed it was tied up with her Red-White ribbon and guessed it went down to her waist. "*sigh* Your no fun Reimu-chan... This is Shinku, a human I brought here. I wanted you to evaluate her powers and such, I can she has potential for notable power, but no more then that." Yukari sounded so... awesome when she said that, as if she was screwing around and being serious at the same time, combining both tones.

The Shrine Maiden, Reimu, just sighed and told us to come into the building, which I think was a Shinto Shrine, but I've never seen one before so I wouldn't know. As soon as we got into the building, Reimu started talking to us "Ok, Yukari, you prepare the Tea, and you, Shinku, sit down at that table." to which both Yukari and I did exactly as we were told. "Ok, put your hands on the table, palms facing up, then close your eyes... good" I did everything she said, and she followed my motions herself, putting her hands on mine, palms down... and then my mind went blank.

Everything was white... white everywhere. I felt like I was floating, in the middle of all the white, and as I looked around, I saw nothing. This place, was completely empty, devoid of all forms of existence, save for myself. I then felt incredible amounts of pain, and my floating feeling was replaced with falling, and far more pain. Everything went black, and I heard a voice talking, to me maybe? "Come on... up... wake... damn it! Wake up! I will... Heaven your... if you don't... up now!" and then everything started shaking, with the black that surrounded me fading away... As my eyes opened, I saw Reimu by me shouting at me to wake up.

"Oh, thank the Hakurei Deity! Your awake!" Reimu said, clearly relieved. "What the f- heck was all that? First, everything goes white and I feel like I'm floating, then lot's of pain along with a falling feeling, even more pain and the white that surrounded me turned black." I asked, in pain and clearly confused, taking a drink of the Tea that Yukari handed to me. "That was how I reveal someones power before they awaken to it. Your's was rather... interesting, to say the least." Reimu said, as if she had done this a million times. "Interesting how?" Yukari and I said in unison, before laughing at ourselves a bit. "You have incredible amounts of power, or rather, potential. That's not the interesting part though, the interesting part is, I could not detect any power or ability innate to you. The only thing that I think this could mean is, your power can be molded into practically anything with the proper teaching."

"Proper teaching, like what, and how would it be molded?" I was really curisous, because if Reimu was right, I could do anything at all with this power, so long as I had the proper teacher. "Well, your power is like a blank slate begging for someone to write on it, you would likely explain how your power can become anything with the right teacher, to the teacher in question, and they would, assume you convince them, train and teach you, molding your power into something like theirs. Any one of the Gensokyo Notable's would work fine, albeit, some better then others. Yes, any one of them, and yes that's about 100 different people." Reimu explained, and wow, they teach and train me and my power grows... about 100 different people... how am I supposed to pick!?

"Well, your going to have to pick a teacher, or rather a Master and have them train you, and over 100 people to pick from... have fun with that Shinku~" Yukari said, as she opened a Gap and stepped through it leaving me here, and before I could react to that, she opened a Gap underneath me and dropped me back into the Yakumo residence. Now to decide...

The next little while consisted of me looking over a list Yukari gave me of all the Gensokyo Notable's I could learn from, and their powers.

I am at a bit of a block here, so I may be another day or two until next update. Lemme tell you, picking the Master and just running with it from their isn't as easy as you might expect. If anyone has any suggestions, It may very well speed along the next update, cause once I pick, I can go from their.

I'll try to throw out a few ideas to help you brainstorm. Don't even take some of these seriously, because I'm just writing whatever comes to mind. But if it somehow pulls you out of your block, then this post will have served its purpose

- become Chen's shikigami lol
- travel to Makai and learn from Yuki and Mai
- go to Myouren temple and learn from Shou or Byakuren (eh boring)
- or learn from Ichirin. then obtain female nyuudou lol
- find Ellen's magic shop and learn from her
- you know you want to become Sariel's apprentice
- let Yumemi and Chiyuri run tests on you
- Alice is lonely; ask her out
- Rumia. (haha no really. manipulation of darkness is really vague. with a blank slate, you can darken people's minds, darken the mood, darken (or completely put out) someone's lights aka render them unconscious, you imagine it!)
- find a grimoire that gives you the Ultimate Magic so you won't have to learn from anyone
-become Yuka's maid

Maybe I'll add more if I think of more. Hopefully reading some of this will spur a train of thought that will eventually lead to you getting some good ideas!

Ok... I'm going to go with an idea that came to me~

Ok, I think I got all the choices that look good down, now to tell Yukari which of the entire list my final decision will be from.

"Ok Yukari, I got it down to a select few, and I wanna hear your thoughts on these." I said as I exited the little room I was in, and entered the dining room.

"Ah, couldn't quite get it to one? Well, 3 hours of thinking seems to have produced some results. Who are you considering?" Yukari said, drinking some pop, can't quite tell what it is, but it is definately from Outside.

"Well, You, Reimu, Utsuho Reiuji, Fujiwara no Mokou, Byakuren Hijiri, Rumia and... Chen." I said, starting to break up into laughter as I named off the last two.

"Nice list, but why Rumia and Chen? One is an idiot with a pathetic power, and the other is my Shikigami's Shikigami and you would be considered her Shikiga... ohhhh I see why Chen!" Yukari said, laughing along with me as she figured it out. The Shikigami of a Shikigami who is a Shikigami for someone else! Probably one of the funnier moments here in Gensokyo so far.

"Rumia because, well, "Manipulation of Darkness" is actually pretty vague when you think about it. If you think about it, I could end up being able to do more then just influence how much light is getting to a certain point, I could potentially darken people's minds, darken the mood, or maybe even completly darken someone's "lights" effectivly knocking them out cold. But that's still just a joke pick."

"Hmm, all of the serious choice will have you quickly flying, it is essential for Notable's to be able to fly, Utsuho has extreme amounts of power, Nuclear Fusion as well as Fission. You'd probly be learning how to use sheer overwelming power power, and incredible Danmaku patterens, as she is a Hell Raven, as well as one of the Greater Notable's, an Incident Causer. Mokou is an Immortal, with the power of the Phoenix, as such, you'd likely be training to be able to survive whatever is thrown at you, and then effectivly counter with brutal power, Byakuren would likely have you undergoing plenty of Spiritual Training as well as Physical, being a Buddhist Monk and her magic involves plenty of physical enhancment." Yukari started explaining.

"Reimu and I would be similar in training, yet opposites, powers relating to Boundaries, and I would have you going through hellish Physical training while Reimu would send you though a more Spiritual hellish training." Yukari finished off her explaination, making sure that i knew that she and reimu would give me hell for picking them.

After a few minutes of thinking, while having some tea that Ran brought us, I decided. "Yukari, I've made my decision. Utsuho Reiuji."

"The Hell Raven eh? Well, let me tell you a it more about her then, she is said to be a bit dumb by some people, but she isn't. A tad forgetful, and can overlook the obvious more often then I'd like to admit, but she is definately not dumb, and definately powerful, as she consoumed the remains of Yatagarasu, the Sun God, and inherited it's power, making her very close to being an actual Goddess. Take this note with you, it will explain why you are their, and that I am requesting Utsuho to train you. No garentee's though, she has a bit of an ego so she might turn you down. If she does, your on your own for what to do next." Yukari said, opening a Gap underneath me as she finished.

I found myself on a dirt path leading to a large fortress like building, that had stained glass windows, reminding me of a church or cathedral. As I approach the door to the building, it opened from the otherside, and a woman stepped out. She was a bit short, maybe 4'7 or 4'8, with a purple hair hair, wearing a blue shirt with a pick skirt. She has what looked like a red eye over where her heart would be, with wires going out from it and connecting to her body in various places.

"I am Satori Komeiji, Mistress of the Palace of Earth Spirits. Welcome Shinku, I'll call for Okuu in a minute, may I see the note from Yukari? Before you ask, I am a Satori, a type of Youkai that can read minds, so yes, I can read your mind." This is kinda cool, kinda scary, considering I'm not even getting a chance to talk, yet she knows exactly what I'm going to say.

I handed Satori the note, and she started reading it "Hmm, I can sense the sheer potential you have, and it's blank nature. I'll warn you now, Okuu will either take to you somewhat quickly, or she will start trying to get you out of here using lethal force, while anyone weaker she didn't know, wouldn't even get a chance at the former, only the latter. But where are my manners, please, come in." Satori said as she finished the note. I followed her into the bulding, the Palace of Earth Spirits, trying to think of something to say.

What do you say to someone who can easily read you mind? "What you would say to anyone else Shinku. I am sorry though, my mind reading happens on it's own and can easily catch the thoughs of those nearby. Just a moment please... Orin, go tell Okuu that it's a guest who wishes to she her, not a problem." Satori said, once again reading my ming, and then calling out to someone. After she called out, a cat got up and darted off... oh yeah, tons of animals in this place, cats and kittens, birds of some kind, likely Crows or Ravens due to the black feathers, and other various animals.

While we waited, Satori and i sat down in a living room of sorts, I say of sorts because I have never been in a building this extarvagent or ritzy, the Yakumo household was more like a normal home, but spacious, this was far more decorated then that. I then felt something shaking, and managed to actaully ask "W-what is that shaking?" Satori mearly sighed and said "That would be Okuu, it seems Orin didn't manage to tell her your a guest quickly enough. I'll try to keep her from outright killing you, but I am not sure of how well I can do, she can jump to conclusions a little to easily and thinks your an intruder." She then motioned for me to stand behind her, which I did.

"Where is he, where is the Intruder!? Satori, are you ok? Huh, you their, behind Satori, get out of here now, before I kill you." The woman said, coming towards me and Satori at high-speed, stopping at the last second. She easily has one of the more detailed looks out of everyone I know of in Gensokyo, with long Raven-black hair with a Green ribbon, Raven-black wings, a cape that was white on one side yet on the other showed a starry night sky, a cannon-like object on her arm, a white shirt with a red "eye" like object inbetween her breasts, a green skirt, some congealed matter, like cement, on one leg, and what looked like atoms orbiting around the other.

"Okuu calm down, she is not an Intruder, I allowed her to enter. She came here so she could speak with you, she means no harm." Satori said, trying to calm the woman, and with good reason, the woman, this Okuu was pointing that cannon-thing right at me with an expression of pure rage on her face.

I finally made a choice! Yes, I am trying to avoid the somewhat canon depiction of Utsuho as a ditz to outright moron, but I am also giving her slightly idiotic traits, forgetfulness, jumps to conclusions at times, ect. Please bare with me on this, I thought Utsuho needed some love.

I'm sorry! I'm not getting many chances to get on the computer, and the chances I get are usually short, so I can't give a proper update quite yet. I can give a minor update that will play into the story a bit later though, so I hope this helps

The "other side" of the Higan river.

"Ah, so you are the next soul... I see you suffered a sad death, your life taken by brigands because you protected a family member that they hated. You do not need to worry, your son is safe and sound, far away from those who wish to harm him, and he is being cared for by someone very kind." A woman in blue said.

"I-is it true!? Oh my, thank you for telling me! If it is not to much to ask, could you give him a message?" The ghost, in the form of a woman 'said.'

"It is no issue to deliver a message, what is it?" The woman asked.

"Please, tell my dear son to not worry about me, that I am fine. He need not grieve and suffer over my death any longer, and that I love him dearly, now and forever. I'll be watching over him, from damnation or salvation." The ghostly woman said.

"Very well, I will make sure he recieves the message. The final verdict! Heaven!" The woman in blue said, ending the line by bringing her hands together, and the room filling with light, before going back to normal with the ghostly woman gone.

"Rest in peace... miss Ryght..."
